Community: Coats for Kids has reached 200 winter jackets, but we still need to raise funds to secure more coats. Marlowe Elementary School, where Our Lady Queen of Peace St. Vincent DePaul Society distributes 100 Pak-A-Sak food bags every Friday, with our financial support, has a total of 250 “food depraved children.” We need to make sure every one of these children has a winter jacket. The Soccer Challenge will be conducted on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at 1:30 pm on the Parish Field. Please consider volunteering your time to help out with this program for our youth. Please contact Brother Steve Early at steve.early@ymail.com or 302-545-7436 if you would like to help.
We continue to collect Pop Tops (soda cans, food cans, etc.) for Wheelchairs for Children’s Hospital in cooperation with the Nature Coast Parrot Club. We have been able to collect 30+ pounds of pop tops and remitted them to the Parrot Club. In appreciation of our efforts, the Parrot Club hosted Brothers Tony Mortilla, Tony Nalli and Bill Shustowski, Jr. at their October 12, 2020 meeting and made a donation of $500.00 to our Coats for Kids. Please continue to drop off your pop tops in the Knights Box in the narthex of the Church. For more information, please contact Brother Tony Mortilla.
Our Bi-monthly Blood Drive will occur on Sunday, November 15, 2020 from 8:00 am – 1:00 pm the parking lot adjacent to the Church. Be on the lookout for BIG RED BUS. For more information, contact Brother Dick Palladino at rpalladino@tampabay.rr.com or727-861-0808.
Life: Our Parish’s commitment to 40 Days for Life on October 1 and 16 was well served by the attendance of several Brother Knights on both days. May God Bless the unborn and the Brothers who were able to take a stand for life. Thank you Brother Tom Sipera for coordinating this effort and for your commitment to life.
